💳 MASSIVE Amex UK Business Bonus Just Dropped - 60,000 Points + Waived Fee
Hello and welcome to Smart With Points, the UK's favourite podcast for turning those humble points and miles into extraordinary travel experiences. I'm Jack, and if you're anything like me, you probably get slightly too excited about credit card offers and airline lounges. Today we've got an absolute cracker of a show for you, with American Express pulling out all the stops for UK business owners with a massive sixty thousand point bonus that'll have you dreaming of first-class flights. Plus, we'll cover some clever hotel savings from Accor and a shiny new lounge opening at Heathrow. So grab your favourite beverage and let's dive in.
Let's start with the big news that's got everyone talking. American Express has absolutely smashed their usual offering by tripling the signup bonus on their Business Gold card. We're talking about sixty thousand Membership Rewards points, which converts to sixty thousand Avios, after spending six thousand pounds in the first three months. But here's where it gets even better - they've waived the one hundred and ninety-five pound annual fee for the entire first year. This is genuinely massive for UK business owners, and remember, you don't need to be running the next unicorn startup to qualify. Even if you just do a bit of freelancing on the side or have a small side hustle, you could be eligible.
Let me break down the key details for you. You need to spend six thousand pounds in your first three months to unlock that bonus, the offer runs until October the fourteenth, two thousand and twenty-five, and after that free first year, the annual fee jumps to one hundred and ninety-five pounds. The brilliant thing about Membership Rewards points is their flexibility - they transfer one-to-one to Avios, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and loads of other partners. And thanks to some rule changes last year, if you're approved for the card, you're guaranteed to get that bonus regardless of what other Amex cards you have or have had recently. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, you can get the card by clicking the link in our show notes.
Moving on to hotels, Accor has launched a rather nice app-exclusive offer where you can save up to thirty percent on hotel stays. The base discount is twenty percent, but here's the clever bit - if you're an ALL loyalty member, which is completely free to join, you get an extra ten percent off on top. That brings your total savings to thirty percent, which is pretty decent for what's essentially a mainstream hotel booking offer. Perfect timing if you're planning any autumn getaways.
In our quick hits section, Lufthansa is making some serious moves for their one hundredth anniversary. They're investing seventy million euros in a complete overhaul of their long-haul service, launching in spring two thousand and twenty-six. While we don't have all the details yet, that's a substantial investment that suggests some exciting changes are coming to their premium cabins.
Now, before we wrap up, let's talk about some current buy points offers that might be worth your consideration. These deals come courtesy of Award Travel Finder, and there are some genuinely good values here if you're strategic about it.
First up, Avianca LifeMiles is offering a one hundred and fifty-five percent bonus at just one point two nine cents per point until September the twenty-ninth, two thousand and twenty-five. That's actually excellent value for a program that has some fantastic redemption opportunities, particularly to South America.
JetBlue TrueBlue has a one hundred and thirty percent bonus priced at one point four cents per point, running until October the twenty-eighth, two thousand and twenty-five. While JetBlue isn't the most useful for UK-based travellers, they do have some interesting partnerships worth exploring.
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is offering a seventy percent bonus at one point four eight cents per point through October the twelfth, two thousand and twenty-five. Given Virgin's strong presence from the UK and their excellent upper-class product, this could be worth considering if you're planning some premium travel.
There are also some other notable offers running. Lufthansa Miles and More has a sixty percent bonus at one point three one cents, ending September the thirtieth, two thousand and twenty-five. For hotel points, Wyndham Rewards is offering a ninety percent discount at zero point six eight cents, ending October the twenty-first, two thousand and twenty-five. And Choice Privileges rounds things out with a forty-five percent discount at zero point five seven cents, ending September the twenty-ninth, two thousand and twenty-five.
As always, remember that buying points should only be done when you have a specific redemption in mind. These programs can devalue their points at any time, so it's not an investment strategy - it's a tool for specific travel goals.
